September 25, 200520 yr A nearly 12-hundred pound moose was killed in a crash with a semi truck early this morning.The bull moose died on impact with the truck around 3:30 a.m. on M-28 about two miles east of Star Creek in Schoolcraft County. According to DNR conservation officer Elton Luce, the moose was trying to cross the highway. The animal's skull was crushed on impact. A flat bed wrecker was used to transport the moose to Marquette Meats. They're donating their time and facility to process the animal.
