MrAndMrsFish Posted November 21, 2005 Share Posted November 21, 2005 The Florida Marlins Community Foundation today announced its annual Thanksgiving Turkey Distribution to benefit families in the South Florida region. The Foundation, along with Marlins players, Billy the Marlin and the Marlins Mermaids, will participate in two events from Nov. 22-23. Marlins pitcher Guillermo Mota and Billy the Marlin will join the Miami Beach Police Athletic League on Nov. 22 in providing Thanksgiving baskets to 450 families at the 27th Annual Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway. The distribution is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. at Nautilus Middle School, located at 4301 N. Michigan Ave. in Miami Beach. Mota will participate from 9-10 a.m. Infielder Lenny Harris, Billy the Marlin and the Marlins Mermaids will participate in the Hallandale Food Pantry Thanksgiving Distribution on Nov. 23, providing food baskets to more than 300 families. The distribution will take place at the Hallandale Food Pantry, located at 815 Nash St. in Hallandale Beach from 9 a.m. to noon. Harris will participate from 10-11 a.m. Throughout the course of the holiday season, the Florida Marlins Community Foundation will contribute more than $30,000 to local charitable organizations with the goal of brightening the holidays for families in South Florida.
