Shaquille O'Neal: Asked to Shed Some Pounds

Update: With his weight currently in the 330's, new head coach Pat Riley has let O'Neal know that he would like the big man to lose some weight and get comfortably into the 320's, the Sun Sentinel reports.

Recommendation: We actually feel that Riley taking over the team from Stan Van Gundy will slightly increase O'Neal's value. While we don't expect the wheel to be re-invented (after all, Van Gundy was running a Riley system), we do think that Riley will place slightly more emphasis on running the offense through the post, getting O'Neal's hands on the ball more often. If owners in your league are frustrated with his injury risk or other factors, O'Neal's value may currently be lower than it will be in two weeks.
