February 7, 200620 yr What is your computer setup? I assembled my present computer about 3 1/2 months ago with components from TigerDirect, a few from Fry's and other components that I had previously. I recommend TigerDirect.com. Those components include: 1. Ultra 400 w ATX X-Connect Power Supply, with X-Cables, (I should have gotten at least 500 w), 2. Ultra Wizard Blue Mid Tower Gamers Computer Case, Blue, 3. ABIT Fatal1ty AA8XE motherboard, 4. Intel Pentium 4, L775, 3.06 Ghz CPU, (faster would have been more bucks), 5. Kingston 1 GigaByte, 533 mhz, DDRII, dual channel memory, PC 4200, (I may upgrade to 2 GB soon), 6. Diamond Viper 512 mb PCI Express, ATI Radeon X1300 video card. Since I upgraded the video card the computer flies, 7. Logitech X-530, 70 w, 5.1 speakers, 6 speaker setup, Black, 8. Seagate 250 GB, S-ATA-150, 7200 RPM, 8 ms harddrive, 9. Konica Minolta MagiColor 2400W color Laser Printer 2400 x 600 color, (I love this color laser printer and fully recommend it), 10. HP LaserJet 2100, B & W Laser Printer 600 x 600, 11. Microtek Scanmaker 3800 scanner, 12. Logitech Multi-media keyboard, Black, 13. Generic 3.5" floppy drive, Black, 14. LiteOn CD RW, 52x, Black, 15. Phillips DVD RW, 16x Dual Layer burner, Black, 16. Sabrent External 42-1 memory card reader, USB 2.0, Black, 17. BTC Infrared Mouse, 18. Generic Microphone, 19. Gem 17" CRT Monitor, I may upgrade to Samsung 26" LCD HDTV Monitor with PIP and built-in HD tuner/receiver later this year, 20. Windows XP Pro, 21. Canon Powershot S2 IS digital camera 5 megapixels, (Since I have to download my photos for storage to my computer, I'm including my digital camera in here). I'm pleased with my system.........The Computer flies! Maybe next year when the new MS OS named Vista comes out, I may build a 64 bit computer..... Here is a link to a review of new MS OS Vista program: http://reviews.cnet.com/Windows_Vista_Dece...tml?tag=nl.e406 I don't say my computer is the fastest around and I know I can make some improvements including more memory, faster CPU, raid configuration and new monitor, etc). Run some Computer Speed Tests: http://www.passmark.com/ftp/petst.exe Go to Tests-->Run All Tests after you install the shareware (trial version) software and then sit back. But here are my "Run All Tests" results: The Passmark Rating of 393.3.......In default mode with CPU Freq. of 3105 Mhz. In the Turbo mode and I got a Passmark Rating of 407.7 with CPU Freq. of 3381 Mhz and I was not over-clocking the bios. :thumbup :notworthy :hat I did a Windows Defrag and received the rating of 400.8 in default mode and 414.7 in turbo mode. I also did another defrag using O & O Defrag V 8.0 and received the score of 398.8 in default mode.
February 7, 200620 yr I kinda just threw sh*t in a box, topped it off with a power button, and called it a computer. Seven years later, I still think it's a piece of crap.
