Hey fella's i do this every season to see if anybody is interested in playing ball......

the season starts in 3 weeks and there is a Dade and Broward league .......

both leagues have a Premier division and a regualar division.....

premier is for those in shape and ready to play with the big boys, meaning your competion will be former MLB,MILB,college, guys from the carribean, and high school players.......

the regular league is for those that havent played in a while and want to get back in it or for those who just want to get out of the house for a couple of hours......

this is the most serious and best organized league in the country it has been running for more than 15 years..all games are played on sundays at local high school fields and some college fields and stadiums...

so dust of the glove and see if you can find those old cleets and come have a great time......

when u call ask for micky and say Cesar from the south florida gators sent you and he'll take good care of you.

What is the level of competition like in the regular division?

I joined an adult basketball league a few months ago and went into the "novice C league" and it was all former high school players and whatnot.

If I go into the regular division in the SFBL, are there really going to be other beginners?

edit: I just read on the website "Skill levels routinely range from ex-Minor leaguers to former softball players and players who haven?t played since high school."... I never even played in high schooled, the most experience I have is bringing my glove to Marlins games last year.

The regular division is for guys that havent played in a while or guys that havent played at all. they dont expect anything special from you excecpt to have a great time and meet so cool people....

the premier division is for guys that can hold there own acually practice and go to the batting cages almost everyday.....

my cousin who hadnt played ball in close to 10 years joined last season in the regualr division and had a blast and is coming back to play this year 2.......

18. Each season all new players listed in the Player Pool, the League?s waiting list, will be invited to participate in a League sponsored tryouts to be followed by a live draft. The draft will be conducted in a manner to allow parity in the League by having the previous season teams with the lowest winning percentage drafting first.

I have to go to a tryout before i'm allowed to join a team??

i'd imagine that means you'd be "trying out" before all the teams, and your performance would decide the order in which they'd pick you. you'd get to play, regardless.

I haven't swung a baseball bat since I was 7 years old, haven't even played catch in probably 5 years... lol.

yea am pretty sure the try-out is this week, you'll take a couple of ground balls and fly balls then hit a couple of rounds.....if your a pitcher u go down to the bullpen and pitch about 20 pitches.....

What if you can't make it to the tryout? I'm going to be in north Florida this weekend.
