Any fans?

My friend is in love with them. They are technically proficient, but it sounds like robots playing.

Technically amazing; creatively mediocre.

They can be real good when they don't get carried away (ex. Images And Words), or when they're covering other people's material (A Change Of Seasons).

I would like to see them live sometime, though; haven't had the opportunity yet.

Yeah, listening to Images and Words I thought it might be the best debut album I've ever heard from a band. But listening to Train of Thought (which contains my favorite song of their's, Stream of Consciousness) it seems like they are an instrumental band whose lead singer will chime in from time to time. There could be a ten minute song, but he'll sing maybe for two. I guess there is such thing as too many solos. I'm downloading the discography so I'll see which CDs I like and which are meh.

If anyone hasn't heard their live cover of Master of Puppets, download it, it's very good.

they are wonderful live. I love listening to them.

If you like them I recommend 2 other bands as well.

sonata Artica - Finland band

iced Earth - from tampa

both are very much in the same genre of music.

I've seen them live. I love their music.

Other similar bands:

Savatage (from whence my sn is derived)

Rhapsody

Kamelot

Lana Lane (female vocals)
