June 3, 200620 yr By HENRY AUSTIN TODAY The Sun calls for three evil thugs to be locked up for life for the “motiveless attack which led to the knife killing of Daniel Pollen. Media student Daniel, 20, was stabbed as he waited for a lift home.>His friend Andrew Griffiths, who was celebrating his 20th birthday, was also attacked. The sick trio who took part will be sentenced on June 23.But today we are urging our army of readers to ensure the judge imposes the maximum sentence available on all three. Click "Source" at the bottom of this article to sign the Petition to put them away for good. Our campaign is being backed by Paul Walmsley, whose son Luke was stabbed to death in a school corridor by a fellow pupil in 2003.Paul, 41, of Cleethorpes, Lincs, said yesterday: “What these guys did was sick. I hope that as they were prepared to take a life, they are now made to spend the rest of theirs in a prison cell. You can view CCTV footage of the attack on Daniel below. Please note: it should NOT be viewed by children or those of a nervous or sensitive disposition. We are running this footage with the permission of Daniel's family to highlight the senseless violence of Britain's knife culture. Police still cannot find any reason for the attack on Daniel, which took place in July last year in Romford, East London. He and Andrew were waiting for Daniel’s sister to pick them up in the early hours.Daniel was knifed once, suffering a two-inch stab wound. He never recovered consciousness.Andrew was stabbed several times and punched in the face, sustaining a broken jaw. Murdered ... Daniel Pollen A 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named, admitted murder at Woolwich Crown Court.Timmy Sullivan, 19, and Michael Onokah, 25, were this week cleared of murder but convicted of wounding and GBH. Sullivan and Onokah could face a maximum of life in prison for wounding with intent. The charge of murder carries a mandatory life sentence.Ahead of next month’s sentencing, Paul Walmsley added: “This attack sickened me. I hope they’re made to pay. Stabbed to death ... Luke Walmsley He called for tougher sentences for carrying and using knives. But although he agreed with the current National Knife Amnesty, which lasts until June 30, he doesn’t think it will work.He said: “If kids are carrying knives for protection they’re not going to hand them in. They’ll just hope they don’t get caught. What we need is a real deterrent like five years for having a knife “Hopefully the judge can start by sentencing them to life. h.austin@the-sun.co.uk Source

June 3, 200620 yr isn't the sun a tabloid british paper? seems weird to have such a good video that followed everything, unless there was something I missed in the article.
June 4, 200620 yr cctv are the cameras that they have on most streets, subways, etc - you are on film a lot over there and the sun is a tabloid, however it's not in the american sense (it's not like our sun or enquirer) british have two general types of newspapers, tabloids and broadsheets - the tabloids are smaller, tend to be less in depth, have more loose opinion type pieces, more entertainment/sports news and highlights of national/world news - in the case of the sun, they also have topless chicks broadsheets are more like our newspapers in format, but tend to focus more on in depth news, etc the sun actually has a very high circulation over there
