Website issue

the other day i got my laptop registered with my school's wireless network but since then i havent been able to log onto certain websites on the laptop whether im at home (like now) or at school. it cant be because of the network because i go to those sites all the time when using the school's computers. im not sure what the deal is and was wondering if anyone might have an idea.

When you hooked it up to the wireless network, did it happen to change any of the security settings on your laptop? (just a wild shot in the dark since I don't have a clue)

not that i know of, i did stop some programs from starting up with the computer. i can get to the websites (facebook and another one) but when i log on i get a "bad request" message.
