November 3, 200620 yr It's one thing for elected officials to spew the rhetoric about patriotism and the red white and blue and all. But the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America have given grades to all the congressman. This is based on how they voted on issues like funding for brain trauma research for soldiers injured in war, healthcare for reservists, and others. http://iava.org/index.php?option=com_conte...&Itemid=210 Suffice it to say it proves the argument that a lot of the clowns who accuse others of being un-American turn around and screw our soldiers. Notice how the so called lefty nuts like Ted Kennedy get much better grades than the super patriots.
November 3, 200620 yr Interesting analysis, problem is some of the bills were A) questionable as to the assitance it would actually give the soldiers and B) included sections unrelated to helping soldiers but added onto the bills anyway. Still interesting but far from perfect or telling which people actually 'support' the troops more.
November 6, 200619 yr After some googling, I see the group was made by a guy who put out anti-Bush ads in 2004. The group might call itself nonpartisan, but from looking at some of the bills it supports, the ones it opposes, and the grades it hands out, it's pretty obvious that it's not.
November 6, 200619 yr Author The NRA put out anti-dem ads in the past. Doesn't mean they are democrat or republican biased.
