ok...ok...so my colleagues and i decide we want to go see Casino Royale...and we get to the AMC in framingham, ma...where 007 is sold out(it was playing on 2 screens as to where borat had 4 screens and that penguin movie had 4 screens...and it wouldnt be playing again for like another 2 hours)...so we see babel starts in like 20 minutes...and we watch it...and figure out what is goin on like an hour and half into the movie...and then sit there feeling bad for the rest of the movie and kinda confused...thats about it...its a weaker, more broadened attempt to be like "crash"...and im sitting here wondering why...why james did you ever pay 10 bucks for a movie you knew nothing about?...so anyways...i sincerely hope you find some enjoyment out it...but if you do...i think you are a little crazy(no offense)...

Babel was really good. If you have the patience to sit down for 2 and a half hours to watch a REAL film, watch this one. It hits on all the emotional strings and the acting is excellent. The woman who played the Mexican nanny stood out to me. Amazing.

I just saw this. I think Inarritu has a ton of talent--for instance, the nightclub scene in Tokyo was amazing. And a lot of the individual scenes were very good. I'm just not sure what this movie was about. I asked that question when the movie was over and no one even pretended to have an answer. I know about the biblical story about the Tower of Babel, and I guess there are some parallels here...most obviously, in the Tokyo story. But I still feel like these stories didn't amount to much. One day Inarritu will hopefully make one 2 hour movie, instead of three 40 minute movies.
