Ugly 5+ ERA in COLORADO. Has anyone seen this guy and his stats? He has a low WHIP which to me is the stat that matters with pitchers, only allowed 4 HRs while playing for colorado which means he keeps the ball down and throws strikes, and can possibly be had cheap. He's 36 and a FA, any thoughts?

I don't mean to be critical, but do we really need these "OMG WE SHOULD SIGN THIS GUY!!!" threads, I know it's something to talk about, but it's not as if Beinfest and co. is gonna read these forums and think "Aha! Why didn't I think of that!?"

1.44 WHIP doesn't mean sh*t if he gives up a lot of runs.

Well it was just a thought. I would think he can be had really cheap, and with our bullpen situation can be a potencial steal.

A 1.44 WHIP sucks.

And we've already likely got two leftys in the pen: Pinto and Tank. Even with assuming Tank is the closer and ignoring matchups if the stats are good, I doubt we have more than two lefties in the pen.

That, and 1.44 sucks.
