Posted January 19, 200718 yr ATLANTA ? (AP) ? After interviewing for NFL coaching jobs in Pittsburgh and Miami, Chan Gailey said Friday that he's staying at Georgia Tech. Gailey's announcement may have been a moot point. He was no longer in contention for the Steelers job, while the Dolphins appeared to be closing in Friday on hiring San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Cam Cameron as their new coach. Gailey interviewed twice with the Dolphins. He met with Pittsburgh officials last weekend, but the team announced that he wasn't among the finalists. Gailey, a former assistant for both NFL teams, has been the coach at Georgia Tech since 2002. This past season, he guided the Yellow Jackets to a division title in the Atlantic Coast Conference. However, the 9-5 season ended with three straight three-point defeats. Georgia Tech lost to rival Georgia for the sixth year in a row, fell to Wake Forest in the ACC championship game and dropped the Gator Bowl to West Virginia. The future looks bright for the Yellow Jackets, who will have 17 returning starters and are expected to land a strong recruiting class. If this is any indication....the Dolphins must be real close with Cameron on a contract
