Daniel Barone

Is this guy for real? So far he's putting up impressive numbers in a batter's league. Any thoughts?

he's not going to be this dominant but he has 3 solid pitches in fastball, change, slider

was outstanding in Boro last year, decent in Jupiter as well (although he was pitching in the pen some)

saw him pitch twice last year in Gboro...Both times he was perfect through 6+ innings...this is what I said about him at the time.

Barone went 8 2/3 giving up one run on two hits(I think). He struck out somewhere around 9. He had a perfect game through 7 and a 1/3 then walked a batter and gave a double. His fastball is 87-90 mph with a bunch of movement on it. His offspeed stuff is pretty nasty. He completely embarrassed some of those hitters and I mean they looked like high schoolers facing a major leaguer. It was that bad. The Intimidaters are pretty bad anyways. Barone was obviously tiring towards the end of the game. They started to hit the ball a lot better off of him. I imagine his pitch count was way up there as the reason why they pulled him after a walk in the 9th.

I liked his stuff. Fastball wasn't at all overpowering, but he changed up speeds and his slider was dirty. Like Ramp said, he probably won't be this dominant but he's defintely a solid pitcher.
