Hey Lou, call up Ronny

Here is what the Cubbies SS situation looks like right now

Cesar Izturis: .249/.299/.309

Ryan Theriot: .270/.327/.351

good old Ronny Cedeno, after going 3 for 31 in his brief stint to begin the year with the Cubs is now hitting .391/.470/.644 in 175 at bats in Iowa (AAA)

I don't think Ronny is the answer either.

and why is that?

and even if he isn't, he's on fire right now

He hasn't been able to hit at the major league level.

He's 24 years old and has all of 650 at bats to his name

Not everyone becomes an all star before the age of 25

Who said he needed to be an all-star?

Well you suggested that he hasn't been able to hit ML pitching yet, as if he never will be able to. I think he is putting on a good enough show in AAA to warrant a call up considering what is going on at that position right now.

I believe he is the future there anyway. Kid is loaded with potential.

Fair enough. I think he would be in the majors if he played a bit better defense.

It's not like the Cubs SS are lighting the world on fire tho.

Theriot has heated up lately so the move might not be made right away, but eventually he has to come up

I completely agree he is the future....... last year was not too great with the bat but hey he was only 23 years old and i believe that as the season went on his average went down...... even if they do have to endure more "growing pains" with him they still have so many big bats that it shouldnt make a significant difference.
