There's that Wii Power Play game with the MLB characters in the mii character forms or w/e they're called MLB 2K8 got mediocre reviews for the wii too there's not really much out there if you want good baseball then pick up a 360 or PS3

Great offensive team, a so-so rotation that will be fine with a little run support and a very ugly bullpen situation. Seems like they picked up quite a few guys that never panned out hoping they could fill middle relief and set up roles like Francis Beltran, Denny Bautista, etc. They'll get going but offense alone wont win you a division.

I haven't tried that. I just turned off all songs except Award Tour. Haha same here i just left all the radio calls from last year on i can't stand half the damn music

Hey i just got "MLB 08 The Show". Its the first baseball game i've played other than the ones from EA sports (MVP 04,05, etc) so it's a little foreign to me. If you don't mind can you answer a few questions for me. 1. When batting (vetern mode) which analog stick is the one you use to aim where you want to hit the ball (pull, opposite field, on the ground etc)? At first i was using the left anolog stick but then i realized that that one was for the "guess pitch thing". The right one "seemed" to work better but its a little difficult getting use to using it. 2. (simple one) Does tapping the 'X' button repeatedly make your fielder and baserunner run faster? 3. What is the "force trade" option in franchise mode do? 4. Is it possible to charge the mound or get tossed from a game LOL? Thanks a lot people!!! 1. When you aim you do use the left analog stick depending on the location of the pitch but you will most likely want to just put the analog wherever the ball is thrown. Guess pitch is where you can predict the pitch and you use the left analog to pick a batting zone that you predict the ball will be in. If you're right on one or the other or maybe even both, you have a higher likelihood of making contact. 2. Well the buttons represent a diamond so i'd think that tapping X would do nothing unless you're throwing the ball home. Not sure what you would use for a speed burst 3 pitchingWinsGames answered that one 4 You have no control on when you charge the mound.... your batter or the opposing team batter will most likely charge when you or the opposing team has hit multiple batters. It would be nice to see the option to argue like there is in MVP or 2K sports when on the close calls.

I'm Italian, so that must mean I eat pasta all day. I mean, yeah...I eat pasta a lot (to this day, I have never tasted anything close to my grandmother's Italian cooking)...but I don't go overboard. Same here I eat pasta 4-5 times a week and pizza once a week

I picked up both versions today for PS3. I gotta say i was pretty disappointed with 2K8 though... the graphics are not as good as last year and there are also MANY framerate issues when fielding the ball. The hitting was a little bit smoother and the power meter on throws was alright. I think the pitching will become pretty exciting in time but i was just frusterated with it initially cause its hard to get used to. IGN doesn't have a review up but it got a 7.2/10 rating... which is about what they gave 2K7. Still haven't looked into the modes of the game though there's like 90 minor league teams and 15 authentic MILB stadiums 08 the show was definitely the better of the two the graphics were very impressive and the gameplay for the most part was smooth as ever... they added a lot of new player animations too didn't get into road to the show mode yet just played an exhibition game PS3 owners I definitely recommend 08 The Show.... MLB 2K8 still has a fair share of problems to work out
