Hey i just got "MLB 08 The Show". Its the first baseball game i've played other than the ones from EA sports (MVP 04,05, etc) so it's a little foreign to me. If you don't mind can you answer a few questions for me.

 

1. When batting (vetern mode) which analog stick is the one you use to aim where you want to hit the ball (pull, opposite field, on the ground etc)? At first i was using the left anolog stick but then i realized that that one was for the "guess pitch thing". The right one "seemed" to work better but its a little difficult getting use to using it.

 

2. (simple one) Does tapping the 'X' button repeatedly make your fielder and baserunner run faster?

 

3. What is the "force trade" option in franchise mode do?

 

4. Is it possible to charge the mound or get tossed from a game LOL?

While I don't have MLB 08, I can safely say that in every other baseball game "Force Trade" just allows you to make any trade you want, regardless of it being fair... gems such as Reggie Abercrombie for Johan Santana, straight up, happen when this is on

1. When you aim you do use the left analog stick depending on the location of the pitch but you will most likely want to just put the analog wherever the ball is thrown. Guess pitch is where you can predict the pitch and you use the left analog to pick a batting zone that you predict the ball will be in. If you're right on one or the other or maybe even both, you have a higher likelihood of making contact.

 

2. Well the buttons represent a diamond so i'd think that tapping X would do nothing unless you're throwing the ball home. Not sure what you would use for a speed burst

4 You have no control on when you charge the mound.... your batter or the opposing team batter will most likely charge when you or the opposing team has hit multiple batters. It would be nice to see the option to argue like there is in MVP or 2K sports when on the close calls.

I dont think the game has a speed burst.( im pretty sure actually, but I could be wrong. You can get thrown out of the game (and charge the mound), but it's random.
