July 22, 200719 yr Finally something to celebrate after last weeks miserable Copa America defeat. Goals from Sergio Aguero and Mauro Zarate were enough for the 2-1 win over the Czech Republic. It's kind of a right of passage tournament, where the stars of 3-4 years time show themselves off on a world stage. Argentina become back to back winners, and have won 5 out of the last 7 tournaments. I don't care what the level is, thats impressive. Now if these kids could translate that success to the senior side... Names to look out for from Argentina: Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid) Matias Cahais (Boca Juniors) Ever Banega (Boca Juniors) Mauro Zarate (Al Saad) Maxi Moralez (Racing) Previous stars to have played: 2005: MVP - Lionel Messi (Argentina/Barcelona) Fernando Gago (Argentina/Real Madrid) Sergio Aguero (Argentina/Atletico Madrid) Matias Fernandez (Chile/Villarreal) Jon Obi Mikel (Nigeria/Chelsea) Cesc Fabregas (Spain/Arsenal) David Silva (Spain/Valencia) Freddy Adu (USA) The 2001 players read like a who's who of current stars MVP - Javier Saviola (Argentina/Real Madrid) Andres D'Alessandro (Argentina/Zaragoza) Nicolas Burdisso (Argentina/Inter) Maicon (Brasil/Inter) Kaka (Brasil/AC Milan) Julio Baptista (Brasil/Real Madrid) Adriano (Brasil/Inter) DaMarcus Beasley (USA/Rangers) Landon Donovan (USA/LA Galaxy) Oguchi Onyewu (USA/Newcastle) Petr Cech (Czech Republic/Chelsea) Arjen Robben (Holland/Chelsea) Rafael van der Vaart (Holland/Hamburger) Jon Heitinga (Holland/Ajax) Phillippe Mexes (France/Roma) Djibril Cisse (France/Marseille) Michael Essien (Ghana/Chelsea)
