Miami FC
Miami FC, Florida's only professional soccer team, kicked off its season last Saturday night at Lockhart stadium with a 3-1 victory over the Cleveland City Stars. There was a crowd of about 3,000 strong, including the Ultras. This season's team includes former Miami Fusion Diego Serna, as well as many other former MLS Stars, as well as the 2 Cuban players who deflected their team last year in Washington D.C. The Miami FC Blues are splitting they're games between Lockhart Stadium and FIU Stadium. This Friday night, they are playing at FIU Stadium. FIU has announced a special ticket plan: Seats are available for $5 at the school's arena box office or by calling 305-FIU-GAME. Montreal Impact at Miami FC Then the week after they will play the Rochester Rhinos on Sunday at Lockhart Stadium Come out and support. You guys said you would've supported Miami MLS if it would've happened. Same stadium, different name, different but better league I'm not a soccer fan so I don't know....how is it a better league than the MLS? Isn't that the top of the sport in America? Supposedly yes, but from having watched both leagues, I think the level of play is better in USL and its also more entertaining. Also, in the CCL(A League where teams from all over North and Central America and the Caribbean played, a USL team made it to the Semifinals while the MLS team that made it the farthest didnt even make it close to that. And MLS had more spots in the tournament.

2009 Dolphins schedule
4 Prime time games. 3 at home. This is going to be an awesome season, and while the Fins have a "tough" schedule right now, you never know who's going to be good and who's going to suck. Last year, every team was happy to see the Dolphins, Falcons, and Ravens on their schedule and most of those teams got beat. You never know who will get injured, and who will come out of nowhere. Im not expecting an 11-5 season, but it could happen, and if not 9-7 or 10-6 which could get us to the playoffs I wasn't happy to see the Ravens on my schedule... and we get them twice... and we went 3-0 against them... you can ask DtrainFan, I told him Baltimore would be WAY better than anyone thought... Rest is alright though, 9-7 is probably the most-likely best-case scenario for you guys though And the rest of the division gets the same schedule minus two games, so it might not take that many games to win the division

City meeting moved up to March 6; county meeting set for March 9
Why not hold the County meeting before March 4th? Is there a specific reason that it has to be done after the City meeting? It has to be at the same time I guess. But the city meeting isnt before because theyre scared it will take Spence 3 weeks to give birth
-
Next Meeting Set for March 12
What pissed me off is how the lawyer kept saying about how they could hold another meeting starting in 7 days, and the idiot kept asking for the first date in March.

NFL Playoffs
I got really scared. My first thoughts were: Is it a fumble or incompletion? I didnt have sound. But after the first replay, when I noticed the guy didnt move a muscle after the hit, I got really worried. Especially since some player's when crying and my volume was off Hope he's alright

Israel
I find it amusing that the only people foaming at the mouth for defense of Israel here are clearly Jewish. It is clear that most people here in opposition to our support of Israel may not be Jewish but certainly are not being anti-Semitic. We just happen to believe in protecting our country and our people first and foremost. I would guess that many of our founders would consider our relationship with Israel to be borderline treasonous. And I dont agree with the Goverment being run by Zionists. First, those people are Americans first and Jewish second. Also, the PRESIDENT isn't Jewish According to vice president elect Joseph Biden you don't need to be Jewish to be a Zionist. And if you actually cared about "our people", then you would realize that by being an ally with Israel, Israel does all the dirty work FOR us . While the U.S. publicly supports Israel, I dont recall seeing any American troops in Israel during the past wars. Giving weapons is different. If Israel wasnt in that strategic area, who knows what would happen there. They're buying them from us. The only way the U.S. is helping out is by being in Iraq. That blocks out the path from Iran to Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon where Hezzbolah is. And I think that when you bash Israel(the Jewish nation) consistently about EVERYTHING, it is called being Anti Semitic. I dont want to get into that though.

Pro Israeli Rally in Fort Lauderdale
You do know that in the mid-1940s, when Israel was created, Jews made up about 10-15% of the population of what was considered Palestine, right? It's relatively easy to stop most of the violence in Palestine. You need to give the Palestinians their own state without having to ask the Israelis permission to build their own military. It would be comprised of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. Those are primarily Palestinian areas, excluding the settlements that have been built in both. Obviously the settlements need to all be removed from Palestinian territory. Then, there needs to be some kind of agreement where both countries can allow mutual travel between each others territory for economic reasons. Finally, this new Palestinian state must of course accept Israel's right to exist. If you can do all of that, it should stop most of the problems (fingers crossed). Which was all offers in the mid-1940's by the UN, but they said NO

Israel
Is it me, or does it feel like it's 1938 all over again, between this site, Digg, and the Western mainstream media? Yep. And some people on this board just continue to surprise me. They are clearly looking for stuff ALL day just to bash Israel. And I dont even understand why. They say they are neutral one the issue, but are you serious?

Pro Israeli Rally in Fort Lauderdale
I think its pretty clear who the aggresor was in this video from the rallies in Miami: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zG-tQLVrEKA: Really? I didn't see any Palestinian's crossing the line (not that they could have) until some Israeli telling the Palestinians to "come on" and trying to cross the street even after the police started forming a line between the sides. Only after they said "come on" and threatened the Palestinians did one finally come over. Also, a minute long video shot by an Israeli protester is hardly a bi-partisan view of the entire event. As you said, the video doesent show the whole event. At the beginning, we could see Palestinean supporters being pushed into their side, and an Israeli protester saying come on, bring it on. What I can assume from this(which I have from watching similar marches in our area), is that the Palestineans were trying to cross the line, and they were being pushed back by Police. While the Israeli supporter was clearly giving a sign of bring it on, I dont think that's as much of an agression, as actually trying to cross to the other side. I also have another video of Hamas having booby trapped a zoo to a school(which is probably the cause of so many deaths. Hamas isn't the only one who commits "war crimes". And what's the war crime?

Also, they say terrorism started when Israel was created. It's certain that early Zionist terrorist atrocities provided the template for a lot of modern activities on all sides... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_David_Hotel_bombing That's 1946. I did not know about this and it makes me sick, but terrorism attacks started WAY before then by the Arabs

I respect your point of view, but I dont really think the Palestinean people should be that mad at the Jewish people for that, since its not jewish people that voted to make Israel people. The entire UN did. The Muslim world extends to most of Africa, and a good part of Asia. The Jewish people had no territory, and with the timing being after the Holocaust, with many young and old people having had their ENTIRE families dead, and with NO place to go(In 1945, the world wasnt as advanced as it was today), it was imperative to make the state of Israel. Maybe they should have looked somewhere else, but its not like the Palestinean people controlled the territory beforehand either. The British did. The Palestinian people didn't control the territory but the people lived there. People who's families have lived in the same place for hundreds of years were suddenly told that they had to leave. Regardless of who was "ruling", that land belonged to those people. How would you feel if right now the UN decided that you needed to move out of your house to make room for victims of the genocide in Darfur? I bet you would be peachy. This is the history of the territory we today know as Israel. At first, 2000 years ago, Jewish people lived there. The powerful Roman empire drove us out though. Some stayed. Then, another empire which I cant remember its name controlled it. That empire doesent exist today. Jewish people still lived there, and obvously Arab people because of its placement on the map. Then, that empire died, and the Ottoman Empire(Turkey today), took control. Still, Jewish People and Arab people lived there. Around the time the Ottoman Empire lost the power of this territory, since Europe was already in turmoil, LOTS of Jews moved there. Just like foreign people are moving to the U.S. now. After the Ottoman Empire and its allies lost World War I, they lost their territories. Power was then transferred to the British. At that time, more and more Jews lived there. Obvously, a large amount of Arabs lived there as well. After the Holocaust, Jews were sometimes left with no place to go, their entire families were gone, and it wasnt easy just to come to the U.S. or other countries, so the U.N. declared the State of Israel.
