Cody!!!!!!! Hermi also had a big knock.

As for Boni he needs to either lear to hit the high stuff or lay off it. Right now hes bonerface to me.

Great game. The most I liked about it that we got the sweep vs the Braves on the Road. Hope we can sweep the Nats as well! Cody great game...and I hope Boni and Hanley have breakout gamesi n Washington! :thumbup

I'm impressed by the great job the pen did. It's as if they got tired of hearing that the hole on the team is the bullpen. They really stepped it up. After all, both teams came in with the same record, and struggling bullpens.

CODY had a great game.

Bullpen was good too, and Anibal, despite some struggles, gave a quality start.

I'm voting for CODY today.

Right now hes bonerface to me. To me as well. It is amazing what scouting reports will do. He is starting to show why some of the people on the boards are skeptical about him. I hope he snaps out of it and fast.

Bullpen was stellar. Anibal really battled, and it's great that he got through 6 innings. I'll take 2 runs over 6 innings just about every time (obviously he struggled at times, but I'm just referring to the bottom line). The bullpen is staying reasonably fresh so far, and hopefully our front 3 can go deep into the games against the Nats so that this continues.

Good to see Cody get going, bottom of the order has to pick up slack when top of the order struggles, bullpen has to get it done when starter leaves the game. I don't really see us losing again if that happens every time.

Hope we can sweep the Nats as well!

Let's not get ahead of ourselves now...We can't win every game

You can never hope for a sweep on the road. Having said that, I am hoping for at least 2 of 3. I'll take a sweep though, obviously :cool

The bullpen is starting to take shape...a bit. At least we can, sort of, see who Fredi has confidence in, for the time being.

7th-Kiko

8th-Nunez

9th-Lindstrom

Tbh, I'd love to see a flip-flop between 8th & 9th.

I think Nunez is just better, specifically b/c his changeup is so effective against left-handed hitters.

Regardless, it's nice to see we have something developing.

The Braves, for example, can't say the same, at the moment.

First sweep in ATL!!!!

I think we've swept 'em before in Atlanta. I believe this is the first 3 game sweep in Atlanta. Or maybe I'm wrong on that one.

You are correct. They have had 2 game sweeps, but those aren't as nice.

You might be right about that one. I just repeated what I thought I heard on the radio broadcast.

This is right. Another nice benefit to this is that when Proctor is healthy, we don't have to throw him right into a high-pressure 8th inning role out of desperation. I'm comfortable (so far) with Kiko/Nunez/Matty handling the last 3 innings, so he can just start in middle relief. If he settles in, then sure, he has the stuff to compete with any of those guys for the 8th or 9th inning. But we don't have to press, which is nice.

And once Proctor is ready, the only question really is who is that 7th arm. I'm guessing Freddi will hang onto Pinto, as he seems to be a fan. Personally, I'm pretty indifferent between Pinto and Kensing, since Pinto doesn't even have impressive splits versus lefties. I guess you'd like to keep everyone healthy and then, down the line, just give that last spot to Kensing/Pinto/currently minor leaguer who has been impressive.

the dude is still batting over .300, right?

law of averages, i say....

wow! I look at the boxscore since i didn't get to see the game and i see Cody going 3-3. The most encouraging sign yet. GO CODY!

Anibal is continuing the good pitching, obviously having a very good game.

All i have to say, GO MARLINS!
