Posted January 6, 200916 yr On Sunday, there were some rallies in support of Israel. The first one with only pro-Israeli people. About 1500 showed up. Later on, both Pro Israeli and Pro Palestineans got together in front of the Israel Consulate, and there were some fights and arrests, I do not know from which sides. I was at the first one, and I doubt anyone there did anything to get arrested, so I doubt it was on the Israel side. NOW, THERE IS ONE ON THURSDAY http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=43934828395 BROWARD RALLY FOR ISRAEL THIS THURSDAY At the Federal Building in Fort Lauderdale 5 PM on Thursday January 8 Anyone who supports Israel must take a stand and help show the world that many of us support Israel. The world needs to see images of supporters of Israel gathering to express their solidarity with Israel at this challenging time. Join us as we peacefully, yet passionately, express our unwavering support for Israel, America, Democracy and religious freedom. THIS IS A PEACEFUL RALLY!!! No fights are going to break out with only one group there. You can't blame it on the Palestinian side just because the Israeli side didn't fight with anyone when there was noone to fight.

That does make sense. I didnt go to the second march so I dont know, but Im just posting from what I saw in the first march and what I saw on the news. But I did see a clip on youtube of the Palestinean Rally last week, there were like 20 Israelis, and the Palestineans all rushed in to attack, and the police luckily stopped them. That could be considered fighting by the news. But what you say makes sense, so I'll give myself the benefit of the doubt, and say some pro Israeli people also got involved in fights. Here is the video: What Im talking about is at about the 6th minute Here is another one of the rally:
January 7, 200916 yr Author Rab, appaerently, there were 3 arrests on the Israeli side, and 11 on the Palestinean. Link:http://www.ovaciondigital.com.uy/090106/actualidad-391409/actualidad/larrionda-entre-los-mejores-15-#notacomentarios I dont know how reliable it is though

Attacks make it seem like one group was completely peaceful and that the other group what completely the aggressor.

Example people describe this event as attacks on one group, when it was really a fight between the two groups.
January 8, 200916 yr not at all, but they constantly turn everything into a major "blowout" when it may not be. Example people describe this event as attacks on one group, when it was really a fight between the two groups. One is fighting, one is more of a retaliation. Two very different things.
January 8, 200916 yr Author Yea, I probably didnt use the right word. I also know as much as you guys since I WASNT THERE. From videos I have seen though, the Palestinean people just rushed in to the Israelis and the police tried to stop them. I would like to know what you guys' opinions on the war are
January 8, 200916 yr Author I thought today was a pro-palestine rally? I just saw a small thing on the news but wasn't paying attention. Usually, both sides rally in the same areas. I hope today's is actually peaceful. My parents didnt let me go today because of past violence in these. If its peaceful, then I'll go to another one on Sunday

I respect your point of view, but I dont really think the Palestinean people should be that mad at the Jewish people for that, since its not jewish people that voted to make Israel people. The entire UN did. The Muslim world extends to most of Africa, and a good part of Asia. The Jewish people had no territory, and with the timing being after the Holocaust, with many young and old people having had their ENTIRE families dead, and with NO place to go(In 1945, the world wasnt as advanced as it was today), it was imperative to make the state of Israel. Maybe they should have looked somewhere else, but its not like the Palestinean people controlled the territory beforehand either. The British did. It also pisses me off when they talk about the civilian deaths, when 80+% of deaths have been to Hamas Militants, and when they have no regard for their OWN citizens wellbeing. They take children on missions, entire families as hostages, and what about last year? The conflict with Fatah? Did they care about their citizens then? Also, they say terrorism started when Israel was created. And that that's their justification. But terrorism by the muslim people has been going on for way before Israel was created

Regardless of who was "ruling", that land belonged to those people. How would you feel if right now the UN decided that you needed to move out of your house to make room for victims of the genocide in Darfur? I bet you would be peachy.
January 9, 200916 yr Also, they say terrorism started when Israel was created. It's certain that early Zionist terrorist atrocities provided the template for a lot of modern activities on all sides... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_David_Hotel_bombing

Well considering that Hamas continued to fire Qassam rockets at civilian cities like Sdarot that don't have anything resembling the IDF within 500 miles of it during the cease-fire that was signed on June 18 instead of waiting until November when Israel had promised to remove their military blockade in and out of Gaza, I'd say Hamas is the aggressor.

This is the history of the territory we today know as Israel. At first, 2000 years ago, Jewish people lived there. The powerful Roman empire drove us out though. Some stayed. Then, another empire which I cant remember its name controlled it. That empire doesent exist today. Jewish people still lived there, and obvously Arab people because of its placement on the map. Then, that empire died, and the Ottoman Empire(Turkey today), took control. Still, Jewish People and Arab people lived there. Around the time the Ottoman Empire lost the power of this territory, since Europe was already in turmoil, LOTS of Jews moved there. Just like foreign people are moving to the U.S. now. After the Ottoman Empire and its allies lost World War I, they lost their territories. Power was then transferred to the British. At that time, more and more Jews lived there. Obvously, a large amount of Arabs lived there as well. After the Holocaust, Jews were sometimes left with no place to go, their entire families were gone, and it wasnt easy just to come to the U.S. or other countries, so the U.N. declared the State of Israel.

I did not know about this and it makes me sick, but terrorism attacks started WAY before then by the Arabs
