August 10, 200719 yr For the second straight season, the Jamestown Jammers have had 4 representatives in the NYPL All Star Game. Third baseman Ryan Anetsberger, catcher Torre Langley, shortstop Carlos Piste and pitcher Garrett Parcell were named representatives for the Jammers before Wednesday's doubleheader against Tri-City. Anetsberger has easily been one of the two most productive players on the team this season, with Ryan Curry being the other one. The 2007 15th round selection out of Illinois State University is hitting .279/.344/.490 and leads the team in total bases (72), hits (41), runs scored (25), triples (3) and is tied for the team lead with 6 longballs. One of the top rated catchers in the 2006 draft, the Marlins took Torre Langley in the 3rd round and rewarded him with a $422,500 signing bonus. In a league dominated by college players, the 19 year old catcher is making his first All Star game. Torre is hitting .275/.291/.472 with 10 doubles and 6 homeruns, and has made just 2 errors behind the plate. Shortstop Carlos Piste (acquired from the Reds a few years ago for catcher Ryan Jorgensen) is also making his first All Star team. After a terrible July, he still managed a .256/.353/.479 line with 4 homeruns. Garrett Parcell has been awesome out of the bullpen for the Jammers this season. In 23.2 innings, Parcell is 2-1 with a 1.52er, 20 strikeouts and 8 walks. Opposing batters are hitting just .239 off of him. Last year's All Star team featured Jacob Blackwood, Hunter Mense, Spike McDougal and John Raynor, all of whom are now in low-A Greensboro.
