We also need starting pitchers. Never thought I would be saying that.

Nah, we need health.

We need an ace, but we've known that since '06 started. Anibal healthy upgrades this rotation immeasurably, and Olsen and Willis can't possibly be this bad again.

I think pitching is the biggest need going into next year. I wouldn't think Olsen and Willis will be this bad again but it'll take one hell of a turn around for them to be good or even average. Olsen has the worst ERA+ in the MLB and Willis has the 4th worst. I wouldn't predict good seasons out of them.

I don't agree with that. In our ballpark, it takes a tremendous effort to be a "bad" starting pitcher. Olsen and Willis have shown they can get major league hitters out. Am I saying they win 20? Or even 15? No, but they can be 12 win guys for our team in our ballpark. Just like one great season doesn't make you a Hall of Famer, one bad season doesn't mean you're done, especially when you're as young as those two are.

I don't think they'll ever be as good as some were expecting, but they just can't possibly be this bad again. And given our ballpark, it won't take a huge turnaround for them to be average.
