March 30, 200818 yr http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/draft...008/265820.html I didn't realize that teams failing to sign draft picks in the first three rounds were rewarded with a draft pick in the same round the following draft. For instance, the Braves will get a pick right in front of the Marlins in the Second Round for this year's draft for failing to sign their second-rounder last year. That seems kind of ridiculous to me. Shouldn't that just be the risk you take in drafting a guy that you're not sure if you can sign? I don't think teams should be compensated for their failures and inabilities.
