Trey05Marlins
Hey, Since it was an off day and I had nothing better to do, I was trying to go through the roster and the organization and come up with what I thought the 2009 opening day lineup will be. I am uncertain though on which Marlins players will be eligible for arbitration this offseason. I know it has to do with service time just not how much is needed and which players will reach that level. I would think it would be the following: Hanley Ramirez Dan Uggla Mike Jacobs Jeremy Hermida Josh WIllingham Scott Olsen Is there any I missed? Out of the Past
I think this is the list but I'm not 100% sure on all of them and maybe I missed others. I think Anibal depends on the outcome of his grievance. I don't remember reading what the outcome was. 63 Gregg, Kevin RP R R 6-6 238 6/20/78 Corvallis, OR 5 19 Kensing, Logan RP R R 6-1 185 7/3/82 San Antonio, TX 4 47 Nolasco, Ricky SP R R 6-2 220 12/13/82 Corona, CA 2 34 Olsen, Scott SP L L 6-5 215 1/12/84 Kalamazoo, MI 3 37 Pinto, Renyel RP L L 6-4 215 7/8/82 Miranda, Venezuela 2 57 Tankersley, Taylor RP L L 6-1 220 3/7/83 Vicksburg, MS 2 20 Treanor, Matt C R R 6-0 210 3/3/76 Garden Grove, CA 4 3 Cant?, Jorge 3B R R 6-3 200 1/30/82 McAllen, TX 4 17 Jacobs, Mike 1B L R 6-3 215 10/30/80 Chula Vista, CA 3 2 Ram?rez, Hanley SS R R 6-3 200 12/23/83 Samana, Dominican Republic 3 6 Uggla, Dan 2B R R 5-11 200 3/11/80 Louisville, KY 2 4 Amezaga, Alfredo CF/SS S R 5-10 180 1/16/78 Ciudad Obregon, Mexico 6 27 Hermida, Jeremy RF L R 6-3 210 1/30/84 Atlanta, GA 3 12 Ross, Cody CF/RF R L 5-9 203 12/23/80 Portales, NM 5 14 Willingham, Josh LF R R 6-2 215 2/17/79 Florence, AL 4 Anibal S?nchez SP Mar 21 15-day Recovery from right shoulder surgery Sergio Mitre SP Mar 21 15-day Strained right forearm - out 4-6 weeks Josh Johnson SP/RP Mar 21 60-day Recovery from right elbow surgery
Trey05Marlins
I don't think Anibal, JJ and Mitre will make it, due to time spent on the 60-day DL.
Out of the Past
I think if you were on the big league team when you went on the DL you continue to accrue service time so Mitre and JJ are still accruing. Also, I think Mitre was already eligible for arbitration in '08. With Anibal, it depends on whether he was in the minors or the majors when he went to the DL and that';s what his grievance was about. Nny
JJ will be arbitration eligible (he was at 2.026 pre-season according to Cots). time on 60 day DL still accounts for service time. McDallas, Waetcher could also be, depending on if/when they get called up.

I thought there was some sort of cutoff, like you can't accrue 2 seasons worth of time.
Nny
Well, I can't state for a fact otherwise since basically any information on this kind of subject is second hand knowledge, but I don't recall ever reading about it. I just double-checked Cots and they don't mention anything.
