April 30, 200917 yr So far at Jupiter, 26 ip and 1 er given up. Allowed just 3 walks too. Just turned 22 last week. Is he a legit prospect? Tools?
April 30, 200917 yr Lot of people don't like him too much because of his K numbers. His BABIP numbers have been constantly low, which won't hold up at the ML level. GB/Control pitcher, limits hrs and xbh. He's a good spec, top-20 spec in our system and that's saying a bunch since we have such a deep system, and often gets labeled as a sleeper candidate. But he isn't an elite spec at the moment. The problem is, his K-rates have declined every single year to this point, all the way down to 4.9 K/9 this year. Him "breaking out" would constitute his K rates going back to the way they were earlier in his career. K/9 05: 7.1 06: 6.1 07: 5.5 08: 5.3 09: 4.9
