The hitter's objective is to hit the ball on the ground to the right side so the runner can be advanced to third. That's something a big league hitter should know. I'm pretty sure they are all trying to do that, at some point in the AB, it's just easier said than done. I mean...how many teams performed like the Twins did last year with .RISP? The Marlins weren't horrible last year in terms of situational hitting, either. hence why the Twins practice.

Last year the Twins had productive outs 38% of the productive outs opportunities compared to 26% for us. This year it's them 34%, us 33%.
