Rockies to Fire Hurdle

Featured Replies

Clint Hurdle, who managed the Colorado Rockies to the 2007 World Series but finds his current club mired in last place in its division, will be fired on Friday, The Denver Post is reporting.

The Post, citing a major league source, reported that the Rockies will make the change after discussing Hurdle's job status on Thursday's off-day.

The Rockies are 18-28 in the NL West and have won only seven of 20 home games.

The Post reported that bench coach Jim Tracy likely will be Hurdle's replacement.

Bah. I hate how managers have become nothing but scapegoats. He's the 3rd 2007 MOTY vote getter to be fired, after Yost last year and Melvin this year.

maybe the new manager will give ian stewart playing time instead of taking him in and out of lineups. the guy has the makings to be an offensive stud but they won't give him consistent playing time or position on the field.

thats cause atkins likes to hit when he puts stewart into the lineup over him.. but when he doesnt Atkins doesnt hit.
