Ebay - Help Needed

Featured Replies

I've never used ebay until this weekend. I join on Saturday because something I wanted was put up for sale. The bidding ends on Sunday at 1:20 PM. I stay "signed-on" throughout the entire time from when I joined. With about 15 seconds left I attempt to put my bid. Ebay prompts me for my password (although I was already "sign-on"). I know it's one of several but I don't know which. First attempt fails. Second attempt fails. Bidding period expires. I'm screwed. Is there anything I can do? My guess is "no" but I don't know.

I haven't used Ebay since the late 90s and early 00s (it's gotten terrible now), so I might not be up to speed with how things work now.

Are you seeking help to try get your password back or to still receive the item? If someone else bid on the item (and won the auction), there is nothing you can do. If nobody won the auction you can wait for him to relist it or you can try contacting the seller and purchasing it off of ebay but this has many risks involved because Ebay can do nothing to protect you.

If your account is so new that you don't have any positive feedback ratings and you can't retrieve your password, I would just create a new account and make sure you remember the password so this doesn't happen again.

Thanks Fish4Life and el penguino.

I was seeking help to try to get the item. And yes, several people bid on it and one of them won the auction. So I'm screwed.
