Van Horne, who has 41 years experience broadcasting Major League Baseball, has been the lead play-by-play voice of the Marlins for the past nine seasons after 32 seasons as the lead broadcaster for the Montreal Expos on TV and radio. The recipient of the 1996 Jack Graney Award, given by the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame for contributions to the game through broadcasting, he has called three World Series and three National League Championship Series.

In addition, Van Horne's career highlights include calling the Expos inaugural game, 10 no-hitters, including two perfect games, Willie Mays' 3000th hit, Nolan Ryan passing Walter Johnson in strikeouts, Steve Carlton's 4000th strikeout, Tony Gwynn's 3000th hit and Pete Rose's 3000th and 4000th hits. The 2010 season will mark Van Horne's 42nd season calling Major League baseball action, his 45th overall broadcasting baseball.http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/fla/fan_forum/frick.jsp?partnerId=ed-3076668-112118452&source=ed-3076668-112118452
