The Marlin Man
So I really want to buy FIFA 2010. It will be my first time buying a FIFA game (owned the original Xbox but now just have a Wii). Before doing so, I have a couple of questions and would love and appreciate any input from you all: 1. I only have a Wii and from what I've read FIFA for Wii sucks major balls. I'm going to buy an Xbox or playstation (the newest version of whichever one a buy). Is FIFA better for one or the other? Suggestion on which one I should buy? ( i know this might spark an Xbox vs PS3 debate but oh well). 2. Does FIFA have a World Cup mode where you not only play the world cup matches but also all qaulifying matches before the world cup? Moreoever, is there a sort of dynasty mode where you can pick a national team and play with them over a 20 year period, with the computer simulating new, young, rookie players that come up and possibly make your team? I'd be interested to hear anything about any sort of World Cup or Dynasty modes that FIFA offers. I'm more interested in International soccer as opposed to club soccer. Any info would be much appreciated guys. Thanks!
Schnellders
If you prefer international teams then get the World Cup game, From what I have heard, it is even better than Fifa 10 and more teams have distinct playing styles in it. I am not sure what modes exactly are in it, but I know you can repeat the full qualifying process.
Dr Beinfest
FIFA 11 is coming out soon, so you can consider that too. But I'll tell you both games, FIFA World Cup 2010 and FIFA10/11 are both made by EA Sports so the gameplay is not shockingly different. Honestly, I have FIFA09 and the user interface is really uninviting for a casual soccer fan. The gameplay is realistic and fun, however. I have not played World Cup so I cant comment any more on it... but the fact that they are both EA Sports says something. FIFA World Cup is probably more of a gimmick game than anything else. You can read both reviews at ign.com (dont look at the reader review score it's innacurate): FIFA10 (9.0/10.0 | 8.8/10.0 press): http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/103/1035141p1.html 2010 FIFA World Cup (8.3/10.0 ign | 8.0/10.0 press): http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/108/1086183p1.html

If you want World Cup because you are caught up in the World Cup... get it. To even get to the World Cup, like I said before, FIFA series are very uninviting and make you play like 4 years of gaming before you can get to the cup. What do you mean by that bolded part? Do you mean that in the regular FIFA series, you can't just select a World Cup mode?? Instead you actually have to play 4 years worth of matches before getting to the Cup? (I assuming you can simulate most if you want). While you probably could, the whole idea of "World Cup mode" is weak. Dont expect a thriller. It's poorly put together in that aspect. The game is much more geared towards the English Premier League's and MLS, etc. etc. etc. The main mode... Be A Pro... is awesome gameplay although. It's the main game mode in the game, unlike any tournament or World Cup mode present in the game. So if you want to win the World Cup in Be A Pro... you need to do it over 4 seasons or 120 games, simmed if you'd like of course. In that time you get to do friendlies with your teams country of choice until the World Cup qualifiers.
