Daytona Beach, Florida-AP -- Talk about bad timing -- a Florida woman crashed her car into the Department of Motor Vehicles office where she had gone to get her license renewed.

Police in Daytona Beach say 69-year-old Denise Butterfield was not hurt.

They say she was pulling into a handicapped parking space yesterday when her car ran over the curb and smacked into the front of the building. She narrowly missed two people who were sitting on a bench. Nobody else was hurt either, and damages to the D-M-V building and the car are described as minor.

Police say Butterfield told them "the gas engaged itself."

They wrote her up for careless driving.

The D-M-V made Butterfield take both a written and behind-the-wheel driver's test. She passed them both and got a new license.
