Hammond Traded

Athletics acquired LHP Chris Hammond and cash from the New York Yankees for RHP Edwardo Sierra and INF J.T. Stotts.

The Yankees soured on him quickly, but Hammond pitched well last season, posting a 2.86 ERA in 63 innings. The A's didn't give up much to get him. Sierra is a typical A ball relief prospect. Stotts has the potential to be a pretty good utility infielder by 2005 or 2006.

I wrote about it in my website. Boy am I pissed off. Cashman's a dope.

Hammond was my second favorite yankee. At least with my second favorite player, ted lilly, in toronto I will see a lot of him.
