January 5, 200422 yr USC finished #1 in the AP Poll with 48 first place votes, as compared to only 17 for LSU. Rounding out the top 10 was Oklahoma, Ohio State, Miami, Michigan, Georiga, Iowa, Washington State, and Miami (Ohio). LSU, of course, finished #1 in the Coaches Poll with 60 first place votes, while USC got 3 first place votes from coaches who said screw the rules, I guess. Rounding out the top ten was Oklahoma, Ohio State, Miami, Georgia, Michigan, Iowa, Washington State, and Florida State. FSU was 11 in the AP and the Gators finished 24 in the AP and 25 in the Coaches, for those who might be wondering.
