Santiago, 24, was a decent prospect before the Tigers rushed him to the majors, but he never figured to turn into that good of a hitter. At this point, he'd need a lot of luck just to have Deivi Cruz's career. The Mariners should send him to Triple-A rather than keep him as a utility player. Gonzalez, a switch-hitting shortstop/third baseman, isn't a prospect.
