there's this place that plays a lot of good bands that aren't famous on CMT, MTV, VH1, what have you, called the Handlebar (they also have days where they have swing dancing and shagging lessons, but that's another story). Anyway, I'm goin to see Drive-by Truckers Thursday night, and Cast Iron Filter Saturday night.

Now, I don't think anyone on this board would like Drive-by Truckers (although I liked em before I rushed KA, I have found out that they are popular among KA too), but I think a lof yall would like Cast Iron Filter...it's accoustic. Most of the songs are just guitars, banjo, possible harmonica, bass guitar, occasional dobro, and some mandolin.

They call their brand of music "Irongrass" because it's got a bluegrass feel, but the vocals are NOTHING like a Bill Monroe or Ricky Scaggs or something. If anyone likes Nickel Creek, I think they would enjoy this.

Anyway, I encourage everyone to sample the music. If you have my AIM screen name, you can right click on it and click on Get File. If it doesn't work, it might be because I haven't put you on my buddy list. Just tell me, so I can add it to my list. If you don't have my SN...talk to me.
