Knowing jack-s*** about that stuff, I'd say, GO FOR IT!

actually a P4 with a copy of xp is pretty good for the 3hundo range. I'd do it, but I'm an idiot

That's a great price. I would go for it.

also try www.pricewatch.com or www.newegg.com

great computer stuff.

personally, i wouldn't bid on it, but that's because i could care less about the software.

the motherboard can be had for less than $100 (includes shipping)

the processor can be had for $223 (includes shipping)

that particular mobo/cpu combo bundle can be bought on mwave.com for $328.45, and p4 3ghz 800 combos start at $283 (includes shipping) on pricewatch.

so it really comes down to how much you value the winxp software. if you don't need it/weren't planning on buying it, then i don't think this is worth bidding on. if you were going to buy it anyway, then go for it.

definitely check out pricewatch.com and resellerratings.com if you're building something.

yeah, the software was the cake for me.....it alone is worth $300 retail. I decided not to finish the job though, well actually it's the wife's orders.

and I quote:

we can find more important things to pay $400 to than your computer stuff, for now...oh, can I can my nails done, blah blah blah

thanks for the info on pricewatch and the others. I have previously been there. I've noticed many negatives from the feedback on many of the sellers. You guys get anything from the vendors listed there?
