May 8, 200323 yr Click for Top 100 We fought, we yelled, Fran scratched...but we finally did it! The vending machine now carries Mr. Pibb. Hell yes! It was a long and hard fight, but it's over and we're Pibb'n it up at the IGN offices. Oh yeah, and some other more important stuff might have happened too... Last Friday we locked ourselves in a dark, cold room for the entire weekend with nothing but a case of Mountain Dew (the Pibb sold out quick) and fifteen pounds of bacon and came up with the list you see before you -- our picks for the Top 100 Games of All Time! Our criteria for this uber-list of games consisted of a variety of factors, including how good the game was compared to others at the time, the overall game design, how well it stood up over the long-haul, how influential it was in the realm of gaming and just plain how much fun we had playing the damn things. There was some science, some democracy, some bargaining, some crying, some shouting, some fist-a-cuffs and a little bit of snuggling, but in the end we came up with what we think is the definitive list of kick-a** videogames since the dawn of the electronic age. We'll start with games 91-100 and work our way down to the golden ten, giving up ten more games a day for ten days. After we've run through our entire list, you'll get a chance to see what the IGN editors picked as their individual top tens, so be sure to check back often.
