A-Rod to the marlins?!
Bour wasn't a regular anyway when everyone was healthy. If the Marlins can use them both effectively and thereby keeping both healthy for the rest of the season, this shouldn't be an issue. Bour, Yelich and Ozuna are more of the future for this team then even Stanton IMHO, and Alex is no guarantee for more than a year, so there's no gamble here IMO.

A-Rod to the marlins?!
Nothing to lose bringing in ARod. Maybe this is the change he needs to upstart what's left of his career and go out on a higher note. I know he must want to at least reach that 700 HR mark being only 4 away. And maybe playing with Ichiro again will conjure up some good old feelings. I mean what the heck. First base is open and Ichiro will take RF. The fans will love it, Alex will be in his hometown and not under such a media microscope as exists in NYC, and we may have another super #13 to root for, Alex's boyhood hero and reason for selecting that # with the Yankees. I'm psyched for this one!

Stanton and Conley headed to DL *Update - Stanton done for season*
And you're an ego-inflated jerk. I'm entitled to my opinion; you don't have to like it, but you don't have to be a nasty asshole either. I would think your highly paid cleanup hitter should give you at the very least 35+ home runs per seasons, 100 hits, a BA at around .300+, consistently give you that clutch hit with RISP, and strike out less than 100 times. In 7 years, he may have come close to doing this once. He's a decent fielder, I'll give him that, but I personally expect a lot more from a guy being paid around $30 million a year. Five out of 7 years he's failed to play in at least 125 games and 3 of the 5 he was lost at the most crucial part of a baseball season, the last quarter. Sorry, but Stanton IMO is overpaid and overrated, and it's time to cut bait with this fish. Might be best for his career too. Maybe he needs to be with a team who doesn't rely on him so much to be the hero; I don't feel he's good under pressure either.

Stanton and Conley headed to DL *Update - Stanton done for season*
I knew it! This guy can't finish a season. They're paying way too much for Stanton who every time comes up injured in the last quarter of a season. I'm sick of this guy. They need to trade him and get someone dependable instead of being enamored by his long and lofty homeruns. Big deal! Just feature him in the Home Run Derby and let him ooh and ahh everyone there, because he sure doesn't hit them during the season. Such a disappointment. Better him gone than somebody like Yelich, who was a trade rumor earlier. Now THAT would be a loss.

Because he's not a disciplined hitter. Bour is more disciplined than him; he doesn't take the bait. Stanton is always looking to blast it and he bites nearly every time.

Neither! Let Jose finish! Tired of relievers blowing his stellar pitching. If this game gets blown, Mattingly is an ass!

My point is it doesn't matter. It's just occasional window dressing. The important thing is they leave the park as often as possible, or at least get a hit with RISP; something Stanton has not done well with this year.

Yes he can, but more importantly, who cares? It doesn't count for anything more. A homer is a homer. He's more reliable. And he strikes out less. Seems like Bour has progressed while Stanton has regressed.

I love this guy! I wish they would trade Stanton. Between Ozuna and Bour we have plenty of power and they're more dependable with RISP. Something's off in Stanton's head since his injury. And why don't the announcers go all hogwild with Bour's power? He can hit them just as far as Stanton.

I'm sorry, but Stanton is the most overpaid player in the league. He runs hot or cold, rarely comes up with the key hit in must need situations, and if I have to watch him swing at that low and WAY outside pitch one more time, I'm going to scream! Just not impressed and never was.

P.S. Kind of mildly surprised David Ortiz isn't listed higher, but my main man The Nick not surprisingly at the top of the leaderboard .

Wow! You are good! Now if I'm interpreting this correctly, and I think I am, with the exception of Miggie, I rest my case. For the amount of money he's making, he needs to improve, and maybe he will. This does however just cover 2 years, and you don't have to do this, but to be fair, this is Stanton's 7th year; where would Miggie fall if you considered his first 6 years agains Stanton's?

I like Bour, and he doesn't cost $120 (or whatever it iis) million freaking dollars! Just saying.

Well actually, I was referring more to at the same point in their careers.

What have they won at home so far, 2 games? What's up with that?

Well I'm not sure how to react to this as I don't know the same info on other players of his caliber like ARod for instance, or Cabrera (and don't get me started on that Fish getting away), so no comment just yet.

LOL Good to know, I thought I was going to get blasted for that one. I'm just not convinced yet about him, and I'm so tired of hearing about how monstrous his homers are; how fast they leave the park, Yada Yada. . A homer is a homer and you don't get extra runs for distance or speed. Besides, for me, he's no Mantle in that category.

Gotta say I get frustrated with Stanton too sometimes. Just wish he would be better with RISP....it's either all or nothing it seems too often. And when he swings at those low and far away pitches out of the zone I want to throw something. He seems to want to always hit the homer instead of taking what they give him, or the walk. And it would be nice to see him play a whole season too.

Like I said, he has maybe 6 good innings and starts to lose it and is pulled. I cringe every time he's on the mound and he usually doesn't disappoint.

From my perspective though, this is more the exception rather than the rule, dating back to last year. He seems to begin faltering after 5 innings, and today is just pathetic. Never liked him in the rotation and wish they wound find a replacement. We were on a nice run. ...and to lose momentum and be blown out like this so early in the game is frustrating. Thanks, having trouble replying to messages with my tablet though. Hopefully I'll get it figured out.
