1. Josh Johnson for J.A. Happ, Dominic Brown, and Kyle Drabek? They wouldn't even give up two of those three for Roy Halladay, why would they change their mind to get JJ? Salary and age have a lot to do with it. I think Johnson is infinitely more valuable than Halladay. He's seven years younger, doesn't have a no-trade clause, and would come at a very reasonable salary over the next four years, if the rumored deal (4 years 38 million) is true. That's a steal for a pitcher who's already very good and likely to get a lot better.

3. Kinda tough to make a comeback during this game lol, but just cause their pitching has been good for the first few games doesn't automatically make their rotation solid. It is still below average IMO until they prove otherwise consistently. They look awesome tonight though :cool 738512 Well, I didn't mean to chime in so late in the game. I was really just trying to say that the starters supposed lack of talent was the universal reason for publications like CNNSI or ESPN to pick the Phillies to finish behind the Mutts of all teams this year. So far they've done a good job addressing the if's, but I won't argue your opinion as you make a valid point. It's a 162 game season. Good game tonight guys. Good luck tomorrow as well.
4. I would agree they are a better than average team. They kinda resemble the tigers. Great offense and good bullpen, but without a better starting rotation they won't be able to finish the race. They aren't a team you can scoff at, but I think if we can expose their weakness (SP) and magnify our strength (SP) we can come out ahead. 738000 I could see a statement like this prior to the season, but have you been watching/following the first 6 games? Their starters have actually been the strength of the team and have 2nd lowest ERA in the league behind Florida (ironically). Gavin Floyd was a pleasent surprise against St. Louis so it can only get better when Padilla comes off the DL. The only thing that concerns me as a Phillies fan is the setup relief that gets the game to Wagner.
