  1. I've been waiting for a full-blown rebuild, similar to 2006... this nonsense of trying to put a band-aid on everything and stay mediocre (in hopes of making the playoffs out of sheer luck) has just caused me to be completely apathetic towards this team. I just don't care if they win or lose, anymore... not even a little. And I used to care A LOT.... The damage they have done to the team and fan base isn't irreparable, but the decision makers that they have in place are incapable of repairing it. I won't say they're HAPPY that Jose died- but I know they're relieved to have his unfortunate death as an excuse. Even though It would be every fifth day that we'd have a decent chance of winning a game with him on the roster. And even then- the team would probably average 1.5 runs each day he started. poorly conceived/constructed/coached... a real pile of shit from top to bottom. Hopefully the grass beneath this pile of shit is nice and green, once it's removed.
  2. On paper, this team is absolute dog s#it. Why are people surprised at their results, so far? It's just an awful team. Won't be any better within the next couple of years, either. Everyone hasn't accepted this yet?
  3. Why is anyone surprised by how bad this team is? There isn't a single consistent offensive player on the roster, and the starting pitching is made up of #4/5 starters.
  4. The Marlins don't really have a great player on the team. EVERY World Series contender has at least one great player. Stanton will never be consistent enough to be great- but he can hit a baseball really far when he does make contact. That's fun to watch, but it's not getting us anywhere. Our most "complete" player is probably Christian yelich, and that isn't saying a whole lot. This team is not in very good shape. There is no identity. No evidence of any type of philosophy. It's just run very poorly from the top down.
  5. This team has a VERY long way to go. We are not one good shortstop and a good starting pitcher away from competing. The cupboard is bare, and we have an idiot doing the shopping. The kids are gonna be hungry for a while, and we are just going to have to hope that the ownership change brings some front office and philosophical changes to this organization. Nothing will change until the litter box is cleaned. Once Mike Hill and the rest of the "Miami Marlins" turds are removed- MAYBE we can start trying to have some meaningful seasons and stop with the ridiculous 1997 and 2003 anniversary celebrations every few years. We can all argue back and forth about the different ways that Hechevarria sucks, but what sucks even more than he does is the fact that the people making the personnel decisions seem to think that he doesn't suck, at all. THAT is what really sucks. And it's a microcosm of the philosophy of an organization that seemingly exists for the sole purpose of giving other teams an opponent to compete against. It was almost better being the farm team for the rest of MLB. At least we got to see a few generational talents play baseball up close, if only for a few years at a time.
  6. How can this team be so mediocre year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year? Just about every other team that sucks for a prolonged period of time eventually uses their suckiness to build up a solid young core that eventually turns into a good-great team. The fish just seem to hang around and give other teams someone to play. I'm sure they'll blame this year's failure on the unfortunate demise of jose Fernandez... but, come on.
