I'm surprised that Morlando isn't ranking higher than Johnson in the prospect rankings. I guess that speaks more to Johnson being value than Morlando being a reach? It will be interesting to see the bonus numbers come in.

Yeah, JT's ability to play catcher with that bat was special. I hope Mack is right and the new system has helped, that's what they need to have any chance of these high school guys (and the impressive crop of international players in the low minors) from actually doing anything.

First post on here. I'm happy to have a place to sort out my Marlins rantings. On to the actual comment: Drafting high upside players will never pay off unless we get some people in the system who can develop hitting. We can look back at the draft flops for the Marlins over the years, but I can't think of many of them that felt like "reaches" at the time. If you are drafting guys that have scouting consensus on ability that don't develop, that seems like as much OR MORE of a problem with development than scouting. Morlando and Johnson are both bat over position guys and we need to be able to win on at least a few of these.
