  1. As a sox fan, i'm curious about Motas sudden decline. Was he injured? Was there a drop in velocity? Any info would be appreciated.
  2. If true about Garcia, here's some info courtesy of soxprospects.com In Single A Greenville: 44.2 IP 49 H 54 K 18 BB 2.01 ERA Garcia's fastball tops out around 96 mph, with excellent command . Very confident on the mound. He relies very heavily on his fastball, but he occasionally utilizes an average breaking ball and a unrefined changeup.
  3. The ESPN link seems to say that its down to Boston, not necessarily he's on his way
  4. Lester is projected closer... late (talking september) '06 early '07 Anibal is '07 if he progresses quickly this year, but most likely '08
  5. Makes sense....I actually think Beinfest woke up and realized what he was doing. I would trade Beckett to get rid of Lowell's disheartening contract, but the Red Sox seem to have the best deal on the table. However, some of the Red Sox guys seem to be happily sending away Hanley Ramirez, making me wonder if he really is worth the hype.... The point about Hanley being "worth the hype" is the subject of intense debate on sox message boards, but no one is doubting the type of player he is capable of becoming. He was disappointing in AA this year, but some of that can be attributed to a back injury and he has all the tools to become a future all star in this league. Whether or not those tools develop into skills is another thing. Plus, as a sox fan, the thought of getting a potential ace entering the prime of his career with postseason success is enough to make me give up a player of Hanley's caliber. If the deal does go thru, Hanley and Lester/Anibal are both very good prospects, with very bright futures.
  6. The new Sox fans in this thread... how did you hear about MB.com? Was this thread linked on a Sox fan site or something? Well, I first went to this site by googling "Florida Marlins Message Board" and lurked during the A.J. Burnett sweepstakes, but haven't returned until recently.
  7. Another Red Sox fan here: Hanley, Anibal, and Lester are all outstanding with prospects with bright futures. With that being said, Lester IMO and I think most if not all Sox fans would agree with me is the better of the two pitchers. Lester in AA: 11-6 2.61 ERA 148.1 IP 163 K--- Plus he's a lefty Anibal is no slouch either and has front of the rotation potential, he's just a little farther away. Hanley and Anibal would be a very nice haul for the Fish, and I hope a deal can be struck for the better of both sides.
