  1. Anyone know which High School Burnett went to? I went to North Little Rock HS my senior year (1990). Wonder if I played the same ball diamond he did. -M
  2. Redman made the Cubs look like minor leaguers when he faced them at Pro Player on Jul 18. But that was before the Pittsburgh connection (Lofton, Ramirez, Simon). Wood shelved the Marlin offense twice, gave up 1 run in 18 innings (2 CG). Even when Prior isn't throwing his best, he only allows 2 ER in 7. FL has to beat Wood or Prior at least once. Zambrano and Clement probably don't have what it takes to turn off JP and Pudge. And 9er is an iceman no matter who pitches, he just needs some support. Florida's pitchers need some help if they are to win, 20 runs allowed in the first two games, OUCH!! The Marlin's leading RBI man is relegated to pinch hitting duties, leaving Encar and Lee to pick up the slack, which they do when they don't strike out. JP (by far the scariest man on the club) needs people to knock him in after his singles (and steals). Can they do it with only one power threat in the lineup (Lee)? The marlins rode Pudge's back so far this postseason (his bat and his skills as a catcher) can they continue to do just that? The Marlins are middle of the pack on hitting and pitching, they made it this far on heart, fate and intangibles. Can their remarkable luck continue through the postseason? My money is on the Cubs in 6 because Beckett can't pitch every night and can you really trust the sometimes-shows-up Willis? Just one man's observations. -M
  3. remember the fan that drenched 9er with beer?.... lets just say that when i happen to see him being escorted out, someone in a Marlins jersey(not me) ran up and drenched him with beer and yelled "We'll see your a** in Florida punk!" Very cool. Pisses me off when fans do that. I can guarantee 99.9% of all Cub fans were equally happy to see that stain tossed. Been to many Wrigley games, good fans. -M ps. Even when Prior is not his best, he still rocks!!
