Hey Espo. Cubs had a nice run. I honestly know how you feel. I believed with all my heart that the Cardinals were going to win it all last year. It kills you when it's over and you didn't reach that ultimiate dream. I feel your pain. Congrats to the Cubs on a nice season. The Marlins had to beat your best to win it and they did.

The fan is actually my buddy (I live in Chicago). He's already been mauled by fans, as well as the attack dogs the Tribune Company recruited. If you really do know him, tell him that honestly, this Cardinals fan will say a special prayer for him and he is in my thoughts. Tell him that many fans everywhere feel terrible for him and wish him the best in life.

I wouldn't have stuck my hand out to try to catch it because I'd be ducking, but I honeslty believe that had it happened in St. Louis, yes, the fan probably would have been booed but more of the booing would be because the ump didn't rule interferrence, but I also honestly believe that Cardinals fans would not tell him he cost of the WS and they would not throw beer at him. That Cubs fan as a place in Cardinals or Marlins nation if he wants it. I feel that both our teams fans would treat him good for the rest of his life.

Hey Yankee fan, welcome to the rest of our worlds. For years it's been the Yankees this and the Yankees that. Can't say I'm all that sad that FINALLY someone other than the Yankees is getting some air time. I am surprised though that they thing the Cubs are bigger than the Red Sox since the only reason the Cubs and Marlins are on primetime is because the Cubs haven't won the WS in 95 years. Hasn't it been nearly as long for the BoSox?

If wish I had his name and address just so that I could right him a letter in support. He needs some friends now. I feel terrible for him. this was the lead segment on the Today Show this morning and Matt Lauer said that the Cubs security had to give that fan a change of clothes so that he wouldn't be recognized on his way home. That's just horrible. I was listening to the local sports shows this morning (in St. Louis) and Cardinals fans were calling in to offer that Cubs fan dinner if he ever makes it down to St. Louis. They were also offering their suggestions on what he should do. The host of the show said he should pull a "Forest Gump" and just get in his car and go. Pack up and get out now.
