March 13, 200422 yr Game time switched to 8:00 p.m. ESPN to Broadcast March 26 Miami-Dallas Game The NBA and ESPN announced this afternoon the HEAT?s Mar. 26 home game against the Dallas Mavericks will now be broadcast nationally on ESPN. It can still be seen locally on UPN-33. The time of the game was been switched from 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to accommodate the national television broadcast. ESPN has dropped its previously scheduled New Jersey at Boston contest in favor of the HEAT-Mavericks match-up. This marks Miami?s first appearance on ESPN and will be the first HEAT game nationally broadcast since TNT televised the HEAT and Celtics from Boston on Apr. 10, 2002. The last Miami home game to be televised nationally was the HEAT taking on the Lakers on Apr. 7, 2002. "Miami's first appearance on ESPN" Damn. You'd think during the atlantic division title ownage years, we'd have gotten a game or two.

You'd think during the atlantic division title ownage years, we'd have gotten a game or two. ESPN didn't have the rights to the NBA back then. NBC and TNT and TBS did I believe. I think this is ESPN's first year with the NBA, maybe 2nd for some reason I can't remember if they had the NBA last year.
March 13, 200422 yr this is ESPN's 2nd year. we were on NBC and the turner networks quite a bit when we were winning.
March 13, 200422 yr NBA on NBC was the best. It's better than ABC and ESPN. You can't beat the NBA on NBC theme. John Tesh - Roundball Magic
March 13, 200422 yr haha I loved that NBA on NBC theme song. But TNT wins BY FAR. Everyone else has pretty boring announcers.
March 13, 200422 yr NBC had the best announcer and it's Bob Costas. He knows the knownledge of almost every sport. He announced the Marlins' first championship and Jordan's last game as a Bull.
March 13, 200422 yr You know you can download the NBA on NBC Theme off Kazaa? lol Anywhos, Bob Costas doesn't ring a bell. I wasn't into sports yet when he was all famous I guess. Does he still announce games?

Does he still announce games? Yes, I know that. As for Bob Costas, I think he hashis own TV show on cable. I don't think he accounces games anymore since NBC doesn't have any professional sports (NBA,NFL,NHL, and MLB) to show.
March 13, 200422 yr Damn. You'd think during the atlantic division title ownage years, we'd have gotten a game or two. Uhhhh marlins02 is right here. espn has only shown nba games for 2 years so the heat used to be on nbc and tbs all the time but not yet espn

March 21, 200422 yr Author I'll be at that game!! Won't it be blacked out though? ? ESPN said its first-ever Heat telecast Friday (against Dallas) will not be blacked out locally. Hmm maybe I wont go to that game... I'd like to see the ESPN telecast. From http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/8239480.htm

March 21, 200422 yr It is about time. The Heat have a very entertaining team and I dont see why they wouldnt want to show off the skills of Dwayne Wade. I hate EPSN's coverage of the NBA. I cant stand that punk-ass Stephen A. Smith. I wonder what the 'A' stands for... And I couldnt stand Greg Anthony as a player and as a commentator he seems to have an agenda at times. Which brings me to Bill Lambier (sp?). I cant stand him either - big ol' softy who doesnt know jack about the game. Or at least you couldnt tell when he speaks. Looks foolish up there. Thumbs down on ESPN/ABC for NBA thus far. :thumbdown Why shouldnt they just call it the 'Western Conference' on ESPN anyway?
March 21, 200422 yr Yeah, I'm not too fond of ESPN's coverage either. I wanna see the Heat on TNT, now that's my channel. Too bad they rarely play on Thursdays anyways..
