US vs European reporting:

Featured Replies

Niether. Skynews, NTN and the like are just as biased as domestic outlets. Although if you forced me to pick I would vote that American outlets are less biased only because most foreign media outlets receive funds and are more controlled than american media in ideology.

Well, the US media is very critical of the government, maybe because they are the only major country of the ones I have seen (US, Canada, UK, France, Japan, China, and Spain) that are not under a leash.

The Japanese newscasts are just news readers. No comments, nothing else. The Canadians, French, Spaniards, and Brits have government owned media which is under gag orders all the time and are just news readers (propaganda machines) and some independent media which can be hushed up too.

The Chinese have CCTV (number here). Pretty much a stream of Chinese communist propaganda.

Cuban news on the radio is so off the chart as well, you can use it as comical relief.

I'll have some comments on this after a few opinions.

Radio Nacional de Espa?a (In Castillian Spanish) http://www.rne.es/index.htm Thanks Cape. I watch BBC sometimes when they air on PBS. I'd say they (BBC at least) are far more critical of their government that our press is. Many times I see Blair getting GRILLED hardcore by a journalist and hes pretty nimble on his feet. That would never, ever happen here.

Watch Question Time in the house of commons on CSPAN on Wed. or Sun. nights. Now that's what government is all about.

I have watched both and I believe that European news is far more informational, but it is incredibly biased at the same time.

You get brainwashed more from europe, but learn more. rather odd. If i had to choose between only european and american news the rest of my life, I would choose european.
