Rob Neyer

Interesting I was reading that Chat log on ESPN.com today it was Rob Neyer answering Questions and here he is giving Pavano some props...

Floyd (Los Angeles): Who is the most overrated pitcher in baseball today, in your opinion? And who is the most underrated?

Rob Neyer: Just off the top of my head I'll say . . . Overrated: Barry Zito (even though he's obviously very good), and Underrated: Carl Pavano (who's now pitching quite well for a second straight season). But given time I would come up with different answers.

Nice. I would have said Matt Clement, too. I can't believe how similar their stats are.

Pavano/Clement

IP: 87, 85.2

R: 30, 30

HR: 8, 6

BB: 20, 29

W/L: 6-2, 7-4

ERA: 3.10, 3.15

WHIP: 1.08, 1.12

BAA: .228, .213

And they're both 7 year pros... >_>

:thumbup Thanks for the respect.

And I hope that he would have still picked Pavano had he thought about it more.

But you know that all of the Marlins starters all had atleast 10 wins last season(except for Josh who was out for a lot of it) and a lot of people dont think much of them.

So there are a lot more picthers on the Marlins who some people might pick for being the most under-rated pitcher.
