Mckeon on Lowell Trade Rumors

Check it out! Mckeon says he thinks Lowell wont be traded....

Keeping Lowell `wishful thinking'

McKeon hopes team stays intact

Marlins manager Jack McKeon told reporters last weekend that he didn't think third baseman Mike Lowell would be traded, but McKeon clarified his thoughts Wednesday.

''My personal feeling is they wouldn't move him,'' McKeon said before the Marlins played the Milwaukee Brewers. ``I have no knowledge [of what ownership will do], but I feel they would try to keep this team together. But it's wishful thinking. I don't know what they will do.''

A year ago, then-manager Jeff Torborg had almost the identical feeling about left fielder Cliff Floyd. Torborg said then he didn't think the club would trade Floyd.

However, Floyd and opening day starter Ryan Dempster were traded the day after the All-Star Game to the Montreal Expos and Cincinnati Reds, respectively.
