July 13, 200422 yr China's people will not be abused in about 20 years, the country is moving towards capitalism and will soon be among the world's economic superpowers. Once communism falls in China, which it will, China will no longer be as hostile. China can not be put in the same category as Iraq and North Korea. China is not a rogue state with an irrational leader and war with China has always been out of the question for both sides in the past few decades.
July 13, 200422 yr China's people will not be abused in about 20 years, the country is moving towards capitalism and will soon be among the world's economic superpowers. Once communism falls in China, which it will, China will no longer be as hostile. 1. China has not been communist in years...it is and will remain a dictatorship. 2. Why couldn't we wait it out in Iraq by that logic? 3. Who says in 20 years it is any different? China can just be an equall absuive but richer superpower. I would be money that this WILL be the result because it is by far the most likely. China can not be put in the same category as Iraq and North Korea. China is not a rogue state with an irrational leader and war with China has always been out of the question for both sides in the past few decades. Now with your cowboy "rogue state" talk, let's get to the facts. China sells weapons to dangerous people (http://216.26.163.62/2002/ea_china_07_16.html and http://www.falunnews.org.il/ch_ec/wt_001.shtml), the exact crime we held Saddam guilty of BEFORE he ever even did it, because he didn't have any weapons and he had no connections with Al Qaeda. So China is CURRENTLY a threat (unlike Iraq ever was) and China WILL CONTINUE to be a threat because their power is unchecked.
July 13, 200422 yr China's offenses have been milder and more indirect than those of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Nevertheless, Beijing's actions raise serious questions about whether its professed commitment to the campaign against international terrorism is genuine. For years, China has exported sensitive military technology to countries that have been sponsors of terrorism. Recipients of such sales include Iran, Iraq and Syria. Even though Chinese leaders now say that they support the U.S.-led effort against terrorism, there is no evidence that Beijing is prepared to end its inappropriate exports. At the recent APEC summit, China's President Jiang Zemin was notably noncommittal when President Bush sought such a commitment. Whenever the United States has brought up the exports issue, Chinese officials have sought to link a cutoff to a similar cutoff of U.S. military sales to Taiwan -- something that is unacceptable to Washington. It is time for China, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia to prove by their deeds, not just their words, that they are serious about contributing to the campaign against international terrorism. In China's case, that means ending all militarily relevant exports to regimes that have sponsored terrorism. http://www.cato.org/dailys/11-16-01.html
July 13, 200422 yr Geeeeeesh. Get pwned and you run to dropping (Michael) Moore-isms on us... Also enough of this little crap. Some on The Right are always flapping their gums that if you oppose Bush you're anti american and A Moore follower. Any person who keeps on spouting like this is an idiot and makes other reasonable minded conservatives look like idiots. I in no way support Moore, I do however enjoy his comedic approach to some issues and the directoral effort that's put into his films. I do not go out and make broad accusations as he does nor do I go off to his extremes, I do strongly oppose Bush but of course I would be called A Moore supporter. Gelespie said The Democratic Party has offically supported Moore due to the fact that they were at his premeire and that they are just as radical which is a complete lie but Gelespie will spew that. Also in Tom Delay's world, I am unamerican because I oppose how The War on Terror has been carried out. It's childish plain and simple but these assumptions continue(The classic "When you assume, you make an ass out of you and me" applies here). It looks childish and it appears that all republicans do this kind of thing. It's time for it to end because THe World does not need to think that Sean Hannity represents the entire republican party. Enough of these assumptions
July 14, 200422 yr if you are saying we have a deturrent against them, then the same is true about Iraq and every other country...the crimes they are guilty of are not worth of nuclear reprisal, but they are crimes nonetheless.
July 14, 200422 yr it shouldn't. i don't care. but America is to be a POLICEMAN it should not be trying to police minor or non existant problems like Iraq and focus its energies elsewhere.
