  2. Thought I would post this here... Gotcast.com is holding open (and free) auditions for anyone who wants to host MLB.com's "the dish". I can think of a few people here who would want to host a MLB show. Sign up here and see if we can vote one of our own in! http://www.gotcast.com/casting-calls/MLBcoms-the-Dish/51143
  3. neat, i guess. any point to this? It puts the season in a more contexual view rather than game by game. losing three in a row wont look so bad in the overall scheme of things. I just find it much more interesting of a method to track a teams progress.
  4. Just to update everyone... The Marlins are on pace to score a 74 (+2). Their last hole, they scored a 4 to keep par and stay even but halved this hole with 2 wins and 2 losses so far.
  5. Us folks over at RedsZone have been keeping track of the Reds using a Golf Scorecard formula. Basically, its breaking the season up by 18 which figures every 9 games. We figure a 5-4 record every 9 games will get you about "par". Keep it under 72 losses and it gets you in the playoffs. So if that makes sense to you, i put together a little page that has the Marlins record/golf scorecard thus far. Check it out Marlins Golf Scorecard Tell me what you think...
  6. I dont know why anyone would want to play for the Cubs. Year in and year out they suck (or end up sucking when it matters most). I can't fathom why you would spend good money to visit a garbage stadium watching a garbage team.
  7. and traded Travis Chick for a proven closer. I was with you till this gem.... Eddie Guardado is Eddie Guardoodoo He's in a new league and for the most part will have the NLers trying to figure him out. Note: man do I need to update my av and sig...wow (FeLo & Pena).

Somebody stole moneys thread And no it wasn't me http://www.redszone.com/forums/showthread....4310#post844310 Whoa... Didnt know this thread was offlimits to discussion elsewhere
  9. Carlton Fisk's is nothing special in my book...all it does is take the focus off the fact the Reds beat them in that series... More impressive if it was game 7...
  10. Makes sense for the Reds too. Germano - 2002 minor leaguer of the year for SD's system and keeps the ball in the park. 122ip in portland, only 12 hr. THis is the ideal type of pitcher the Reds need for any future hope. Chick - Flaunted as a phenom in the making. Compared to Nolan Ryan or Schilling. High K/B ratio a mean slider. Padres fans will grow to dislike this trade in the future, I have a feeling. Im sure you marlins fans remember Chick. Once upon a time, Marolins property.
  11. Per ESPN Very excited about this trade! Chick has been compared to Nolan Ryan or Schilling. Not always ends up that way but pleasing to me. Dan O'Brien did something right in my opinion.
  12. Im getting more respect for the guy. He is obviously pushing through his struggles, taking the heat from the fans and keeping his mouth shut. He is letting his play on the field say all that needs to be said. I have respect for that after a person nearly destroys his own career for cheating. He deserves a second shot as he is making a clear effort to become his old self minus the enhancement. Hope he stays true to himself, stories like that are intriguing.
  13. Milton for the Reds comes to mind. Pay through the nose for somethng that should fix a flat tire...but the product you bought ends up being the proverbial nailstips on the road to a .500 record.
  14. Austin has somewhat of an attitude. He believe the RF spot should be his by right. He stopped working out and just showed up basically. He ballooned up to 275 i think when he should be around the 245-250 mark. A trip down to the minors taught him a few things. One being to never expect the world when you dont earn it. He is 100% natural baseball player but his personality has sometimes gotten him into trouble. Ill give him this, the Reds management is one of the worst in baseball. Even though I think they handled his struggles correctly (Pena was too good to ignore anyways), Kearn was never communicated to by Dan O'Brien. Its almost like the Bengals sucktitude has gravitated over to Great American. *sigh*
  15. So now athletes are forbidden to talk back to the all-mighty press. Dont you know you are supposed to bow to their cheap sneakers?
